Herb garden ideas

Herbs in the garden make me very happy, so I thought I'd share some fun ideas for placing herbs in the yard . One of my new projects for this Spring is to make a herb-spiral in the front yard like the last picture, because I think they look sooo pretty! Ofcourse I'll show pictures on my blog when it's done :-)

 

I'm slowly getting at where I want to be this month, and it's getting easier everyday actually. I've lost 5 pounds so far and besides feeling a little tired now and then, I'm doing just fine :-) It helps to set a goal like I did at the beginning of this month, when I said I wanted to come as close to 154 pounds as possible (from 165 pounds). That seems like a lot more achievable than thinking about going from 165 to 143 pounds!

Let the Spring in and the gardening season begin!

 

Summer night wishes

Frost is totally gone here, and if I stick up my nose, I can really smell a tiny bit of Spring in the air! It really makes me crave for those long, lazy evenings in the garden again :-) I can't wait!

Bye bye gardening season...

Fall is really kicking in here! It's raining more, windy and getting colder... so it looks like we can't do much more in our allotment this year. These pictures are from last week, as you can see it was so nice outside! Sunny and even a bit warm, which is quite unique for the Netherlands in November!

You know, I can really look forward to those cold and snowy winter-days, making a snowman in our backyard, go ice-skating and snuggle up under a warm blanket on the couch while watching all those christmas-movies....but at the same time I feel kind of sad to put my rubber boots and all my gardening tools in the shed and have to wait all winter long before I can get back in the garden again.

Oh well, winter time will be well spent inside, picking out all kinds of seeds in the catalogs :-)

Such a beautiful day!

I don´t know about the rest of the world, but here it´s been a beautiful sunny day today! Although the wind can be a bit cold, it was the perfect sunday to do some work in the garden, so my friend and I went to our allotment and did quite a lot of work. The garden has to be made ready for the next season and we just planted our garlic and broad beans, both survive during the winter and gives us early harvest.
